About the event
- This course is designed to educate the real estate professional on the ever-changing role that property/flood insurance is playing within the home buying process. This will enable them to provide a more seamless purchase experience for their clients by being able to pinpoint possible insurance underwriting risks that may exist with certain properties. Knowing this information up front will allow them to discuss possible risks with their clients and be able to suggest solutions that will result in a more informed decision to move forward. We will also discuss flood insurance as it relates to certain properties and the associated costs that it could add.
- Overall synopsis of the home insurance market Why should the realtor be involved? Break Different types of roofs and associated risks Different types of wiring and associated risks Break Assorted Underwriting Risks (Pools, Dogs, Acreage) How property claims affect client Basic knowledge of flood insurance
- Expected Learning Outcome- Upon completion of this course, the agent should be able to pinpoint possible underwriting risks with properties they are showing as well as understand how property claims can affect both their client and insurability of a dwelling. They will also have basic knowledge of how flood insurance works and how it can impact the client’s yearly cost on a home.
- 3 CE credits.
