Canyon Title remains fully operational and compliant with Governor Polis’s orders (click to view). As this situation evolves, we will keep this page up to date with our most current policies. We are receiving many questions from clients and consumers to find out IF we can close in light of the stay-at home order and HOW we can close. This message is intended to clarify the status of our operation, explain what touchless closing options we provide and eliminate some concerns surrounding what changes our six title insurance underwriters have made in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Many industries will struggle under the pressure of the coronavirus pandemic. Our heart goes out to those that are currently ill, have had a loss or are now unemployed. If we are careful, stay healthy and keep making smart decisions, the real estate sector can thrive! Since 2001 Canyon Title, its partner Boston National Title and our parent Blackstone (NASDAQ BX) have had more financial strength than the two largest title insurance underwriters in North America combined. Know that when you choose Canyon you are choosing a locally operated company with more financial strength than any title company or title agent in Colorado.


We have complied with the orders and reduced our staffing levels to a minimum. Canyon Title, since 2008, has had the ability to work seamlessly from home in times of inclement weather and emergencies. Furthermore, our phone system has the ability to operate directly on our team members mobile phones. Our point, this is not a new way of conducting business, it has been our standard since long before the pandemic. 


  •  Our preference is to provide a touchless closing. If an in-person signing is required, please see our Locked Door Policy (click to view). 

  • Drive Thru Closing – Customers can come to our offices and we will close in the safety of their car. Some Title Companies are offering this option exclusively but many consumers are uncomfortable leaving their home.

  •  Porch Front Closing (click to view) – FOR NO ADDITIONAL FEE, We feel this creative solution is the best option for ALL signings because it embraces the safety of touchless without requiring consumers to leave their home


  • We are still providing the same “whatever it takes“ service you have come to trust, the safety of our team and those we serve is our highest priority.

  • We are still electronically recording documents and not delaying closings.

  • We are still providing gap coverage to our lenders and home owners.

  • We are still listening to our customers, as always, regarding the needs of our buyers, sellers and borrowers

  • Electronic notarization is currently not compliant in CO nor is it accepted by lenders in CO. Any company saying they can provide this service is incorrect.

  • We will begin accepting earnest money and proceeds to close via electronic funds transfer next week. Look for our announcement!
